Micaul Solar SAP 2005 Assessment of Dwellings

Our SAP 2005 assessment service helps us to assess the energy performance of your house design and takes the hard work out of achieving compliance with the new ADL1A (work in new dwellings).

 

The introduction of the new Building Regulations now makes SAP 2005 the only compliance route for new dwellings. Our service follows the calculation methods and procedures specified in both the new ADL1A and SAP 2005 documents.

 

Using BRE Approved SAP 2005 software we can offer:

  • Calculation of DER, TER, SAP, CO2 and Environmental Impact

  • Compliance checklists

  • Assessments for as-designed, as-built and multiple design variations

  • Evaluation of the effect of solar gains and summer overheating risk

  • Comprehensive U-value calculations and Condensation Risk Analysis

Compliance to the new regulations is demonstrated by meeting 5 criteria, all of which our service can provide:

  1. The Dwellings Emission Rate (DER) is not greater than the Target Emissions Rate (TER).

  2. The Performance of the building fabric and fixed services should be no worse than design limits.

  3. The Dwelling has appropriate passive control measures to limit the effect of solar gains on internal temperatures in summer.

  4. The performance of the dwelling, as built is consistent with the DER.

  5. The necessary provisions for energy efficient operation of the dwelling are put in place.

As well as performing the energy calculations, we can also assist in tracking the design proposals, providing confidence that all the relevant Part L requirements will be met.
